Dharavi is one of the most densely populated areas on earth. with over 700,000 people living in a mere 2.1 km2
Located in Mumbai, it is known to be one of the world’s largest slums.
i was sent by BBC World Service to shoot a documentary on slum tourism and the local hip-hop scene, which aired earlier this summer.
The photos, however, document a more intimate and honest portrayal of the area - it’s movers and shakers and it’s unique and varied industries.
